 Josh anderson, is one of those Video guys that has his finger on the pulse when it come to Internet Marketing, and using Video as his chosen method of delivery. It was onlt a few days ago when Josh sent me details of his latest software release, and like all his other products, it was related to audio and video.

This time the product was different, it was simply and FLV player. not very unusual you may say as there must be hundreds of FLV players on the market, some free while others have a small charge for their use.

This FLV palyer is special, it not only plays and controls the streaming display of a video, it also has the ability to Trigger an event on a web page, which allows you to control the content of your website dynamically.

Q. Michael, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today.

A. My pleasure - I know a lot of people out there want to get started making money online so it’s my job to get out and spread the word about how easy it is.

Q. So what do you see as being the main hurdles to newbies being able to make money on the internet? What is it that’s stopping them?

A. To be honest with you I think the main thing is information. There is just so much BAD information out there. Scams. Cons. Just bad information that is leading people astray and wasting their time and money. I mean you get onto the Internet and the first thing you see almost is these get-rich-quick schemes. It’s not your fault for seizing these so-called opportunities as they are presented so well. And believe me - I know there are thousands of you out there who have been taken for a ride by things like this. People on my list have been telling me this.

Q. Yes, you ran survey didn’t you to ask your list what they wanted? What sort of questions did you ask them and what did they say?

A. Well I asked how I could most help them. You know - I’ve been online since 1995 and make a lot of money online but I was keen to tap into their BIGGEST challenges and needs. So I asked them what sort of information they wanted to learn. What style of learning they preferred and how they wanted this information to be delivered. I was totally blown away by the responses - I got 1489 people completing the survey!

Q. So what did they say?

A. There some big common themes that kept coming up as I looked at the responses and all the comments. These were that people want something that is STEP BY STEP, something that is AFFORDABALE and something that takes you right FROM BEGINNING and doesn’t leave anything out. You can get really frustrated when you start investing in products that claim to make you money online only to find that leave out a massive piece of the jigsaw. Just as an experiment, I made a post to this blog a few days ago, with the sole intention to test if i could get a single page ranked on the first page of Google.

And to make it even harder, i wanted to get this page indexed by Google in no more than three days.

I didn’t want to stop there……. It had to be a page that DID NOT  contain any of the keywords, within the page or meta tags etc, that i was searching for.

Actually, I wanted to do a search where the pages content, were totally unconnected with the searched keywords, and still get ranked high and quickly in Google……….

So What is Podcasting…….

Before I go into exactly how a Power-PodCast will increase your profits, I would like to breifly explain for those who don’t know, exactly what is meant by the term podcast.

Podcasting is a method by which audio content is delivered directly to iPods or any other type of portable media player on demand. The majority of Podcasts are saved in a format known as MP3, which allows anyone with a computer to listen to it also.

The major benefit of this is the downloaded audio can then be listened to at the conveinience of the person downloading, another benefit is the fact that syncronising the content to their media player to take it away with them and listen to it whenever they want…….

How is a Podcast Made…….

A simple 2 step Process

1. Firstly you would need to record your Audio, this can be done outside of the computer environment or recorded directly within the computer itself, But at some stage you will need to get it into the computer for further processing or editing Etc.
2. This audio will then need to be saved as a file in the MP3 format

(I have produced some video tutorials on this, so if your interested in finding out more, just let me know, and i’ll make them available)

This MP3 audio file is then downloaded via a feed such as RSS directly onto your computer or MP3 player, but I would say that the main use today is in conjunction with MP3 Players.

Podcasting definitions………

Podcast or podcasting - A method by which any audio file is broadcast via the internet.
To podcast - Creation of your own podcast.
Podcasting - The process of broadcasting audio files via the internet.
Podcaster - The individual who broadcasts a podcast.
Podcastcing Software - Simply the software that will allow the listener to download the podcast automatically

So what has Podcasting got to do with Blogs ?

Well quite simply Blogs, or Podcasting on a blog, is simply one of the easiest ways to produce a podcast and have it distributed via a an RSS feed.

Firstly if your not already using Worpress as your prefered blogging software, then i would recomend you do so, as in my mind it is the best blogging platform there is, and an excellent plugin to provide this functionality is available to download for free.

By using a very easy to install wordpress plugin called Podpress, you will quickly be able to place any MP3 file on your blog pages.

Now apart from the fact that it’s a fully featured Automatic feed generator ( RSS2 - iTunes and ATOM and BitTorrent RSS) it supports an unlimeted number of media files. This allows you to produce podcasts with Automatic Media players for MP3, OGG, MP4, MOV, FLV, SWF, ASF, WMV, AVI, YouTube, and more, also with inline and Popup Window support.

Don’t worry if you don’t know what all those abrieviations above mean, just be assured that no matter what type of audio or video file you throw at PodPress, it will cope with it (forgot to mention that, video can also be broadcast via a podcast, which is also known as a vodcast) . So video is podcastable as well, is that a word ? this will of course have a Preview image of the video.

Making a POWER-PODCAST

Firstly, If you want to see exactly how to make a POWER-PODCAST Leave me a message below, and I’ll put together a shorter step by Step demonstration on video, taken from the full video set…….. A podcast of course !

How many marketers use a podcast on their blogs…………. Well, I would say 99% of all internet marketers DON’T, and most have never attempted to do one.

To make money with a Power-podcast, is really quite easy once you know the procedure. First you need to Choose an affiliate clickbank item, software /ebook etc. or your own product item and write a  brief script that expalins why they need this product or what benefit they will get by purchasing from you, in other words offer a bribe of a free gift.

If they don’y buy they will have a look to see what its all about, that doesn’t cost anything……….. So don’t forget to grasp the opertunity and capture their name and email if nothing else.

Equipement needed 

You will need to use a microphone to record a short message, 1 minute Max……..  describing the product, and then bringing it to a conclusion with a call to action. For quality results the use of a quality mike is preferable, and a studio Microphone will have better results, see my Video -report on the differences of using a poor quality mike and a good studio mike.  

The next part is most important if you want your podacast to sound professional. You must add some suitable music as a backing track, Don’t skip this, and do pay for the royalties if required or use buyout music…….something that moves along with the pace of the script in question should be chosen.

I i know what you a probably thinking right now, your saying to yourself …….. I can’t or don’t want to record my Voice, I just dont like the way it sounds.

Well, we all feel the same about our own voices, So don’t worry, you’ll do just fine. At this point I think I will let you hear the very first ever Power-podcast I made, so you won’t feel so bad after all.

Now how difficult was that ?……… Short sweet and to the point, and you couldn’t resist clicking on it, could you ?.

Now its not professionally produced or using professional voice-over talent, it was just me doing the best I could 18 months ago.

 so its not great I know, and I did fluff my lines a bit, but It was my first attempt and you will find it gets easier the more you do, just as I do. 

My biggest mistake was to try and do it all in one take, Not a good idea !. . . . . . . nowadays, I use audio editing tools to enhance the audio  quality and to make the whole process a lot simpler.

Now this little 40 Second Power-podcast  made all the difference from me making a few sales, to making a shed load of money. 2 hours work is all it took, around 10 minutes to put on the web, and the results……. an increase in sales of over 60%, ……not bad Ehh for a begginer.
